Adobe Photoshop CS
This is the only picture editor we use at niechift.com, simply because it has all the features you will ever need. There are many who are good at using Photoshop, but very few are able to master it due to all of its features.

Apache HTTP Server
When we develope our sites we use the Apache HTTP Server, this has to do with it being one of the most common HTTP servers and its functionality. Fact is that this server works excellent with no hang-ups or errors. Among the more difficult issues are getting PHP and MySQL to work with it, but once it is up and running it's excellent. Another great thing about it is that it is open-source.

MySQL
The database of our preference is the MySQL database, mainly because it works really great with PHP coding but also because it's speed and simplicity (it looks a little bit like Excel). There is a cute history behind the name too: SQL stands for Structured Query Language and is infact another kind of database which wasn't designed for the web. My isn't my in the way you think, it is actually one of the developer's daughters name (quite common name in Sweden where the developers of MySQL as well as we are from).

Nikon Coolpix 3100
The camera we use to take the pictures we use as the base to most of our wallpapers is the Nikon Coolpix 3100. It is a 3 MegaPixel camera for fun and leasure usage. This is truly a great camera and so says the tests; it has won several awards and as far as we can tell it takes real good pictures. It has also got a lot of advanced settings which allows you to take excellent night-pictures etc.

Notepad
Our tip when creating websites is to learn the basics of coding HTML, JavaScript and PHP and don't use any application for code rendering. When you've learned to write your own code you will know why (it has something to do with <p> and </p>). We use notepad, but there are many other good text editors with syntax highlighting and this is our choice.

PHP
This web-based scripting language has got all the features you'll ever need (and won't ever need) which is its greatest power among with supreme MySQL compability. PHP is a recursive acronym for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor, so basicly you can say that the real name must be HP (but that was taken at the time).
